Mikaila's day was unremarkable yet solid. She was bottle fed several times and for the most part handled it without issue. She gained the 10 grams she needed to cross the 3 lb threshold. Let's hope she kicks her weight gaining machine into high gear in the days that follow. I don't think they will release her if she is much under 4 lbs although they were quite emphatic telling us that there is no weight requirement for release.

This is such great news. Grow Mikaila Grow!!!!!
Just a note to say that I was beyond touched by seeing Mikaila this week after being away for almost a month. The watercolorist in me sees her changes as heart-wrenchingly intense and yet so so subtle .... much like sunlight slowly streaming across a landscape .... and previously unnoticed details suddenly exploding before your eyes. Like this perfect little dimple on her chin! (A gift from Daddy.) And seeing Kim feeding and holding her ... precious. Thank you God for this latest Blessing in all our lives.

Going home with a newborn is already scary enough. Stay in the medical center as long as you feel is needed. Don't get intimidated.
