From Untitled to Titled

Mikaila was a bit tired today after her ordeal yesterday. If you will recall Mikaila was put through a rigorous and traumatic eye exam. Immediately following her exam, she downed bottles on consecutive feeds; quite remarkable actually. Typically, babies are exhausted after these exams. Well, it appears Mikaila had a delayed reaction. During her 2pm feed she was only able to manage 12 mls by bottle. She was given the balance through the tube. Kim believes that her struggle was more a function of the nurse using the more difficult nipple than Mikaila being tired. When the correct nipple was used at 5pm she managed to imbibe the entire 26 mls without issue.

She was weighed this evening at 8. She put on an additional 25 grams bringing her to 1355 grams. She is less than 10 grams short of 3 lbs. That's about it for this evening.

The newest pictures of Mikaila are just darling. She's soooo adorable. 10 grams is nothing when you think about all the weight she's putting on after every feed. That's a piece of cake, or a bottle of milk for Mikaila.
What's the weight she needs to be at to go home? Is it 5 lbs?
Good luck to all of you.

I lost my first entry, so if this seems redundant due to the sudden appearance of my first entry...Anyways, as I was saying..I'm enjoying your story telling of Mikaila's journey, Dara. LOVE the pics; especially those with Mommy and the more recent "eyes open" shots.I'm returning the 200 lb. live calf I stole from a farm (while looking for mushrooms) now that I know Mikaila's nursery has an Australian motif. I just thought you guys might have followed Aunt Sandi's motif. Finding a live baby Roo will be challenging but I'm working on it. A thought came to me due to my many years of "Breakfast with MJ" mentoring (Mikaila's Grandpa Mike "MJ" Boyle)- ever consider publishing a book/short story/article of Mikaila's miraculous journey you share each day on this blog?? A Daddy's view version could certainly land you a guest spot on Oprah and her suggested reading list. Think of the $$$$(MJ taught me to always ponder profit opportunities)!! You are a gifted writer, Dara and it's a joy to read about our new baby cousin. Can't wait to meet her and see you all when we come to NY in July. Lots of love, Cousin Susie and the Schneeb
