Just a quick note to clarify the contest. We offered our guesses as to Mikaila's weight at what was her due date; 6/18. So, I will weigh her next Wednesday evening (one week from tomorrow) and the person with the guess that is closest to her actual weight that evening wins the bottle. We still have 8 full days remaining before the final weigh-in.
I will ask Bill to settle the following issue as he was the originator of the contest and will be the one to supply the spoils to the victor. How do we settle the winner in the following scenario? At the final weigh-in, Mikaila weighs 5 lbs 15 1/2 ounces. Davia offered 5 lbs 15 oz as her guess and I settled on 6 lbs. Who wins? We never added the "Price is Right" caveat- closest without going over- so I don't think it would be fair to add that now. Perhaps we should offer a tie breaking question for each participant to answer long before the conclusion of the contest. Thoughts?

OK. I confess to creating a flawed process. I also confess to never having watched The Price is Right as a form of entertainment.(Watching MSMBC these days accounts for most of my TV time.) As a result of Dara's perceptive observation, I have employed a "business process consultant" to assist in doing a quick assessment of the root cause of defects in "The Process" and to propose corrective action to eliminate such defects in perpetuity. Bla, bla, bla.. Here is the game plan for reconciliation should the situation Dara identified arise.
The two contestants, one the closest above Mikaila's actual weight on June 28 and the other the closest below her weight on this date will compete for "the bottle" in a Tie Breaker, the period of which will end midnight July 4th. No later than midnight, June 29th, the two identified contestants will be required to estimate Mikaila's weight at the end of this period. The Price is Right process will be adopted to determine the winner- that being the person who comes the closest without exceeding Mikaila's actual weight. All other elements of the original contest will apply; i.e., weight increments in 1/2 oz, Dara reports weight with Mikaila in a naked state, etc., etc..
I have consulted, also, with a laywer on the appropriatness of the above modification to the original terms and conditions. She approves this message.
As a final comment, I could not help but notice the large gap between my estimate and the one below it. So-Grow, Mikaila Grow!!!

Believe it or not Bill speaks this way all the time...
I've always said too much formal education is bad for a person.
As Grandpa Bill's legal consultant (stop laughing) I will clarify that the party of the 1st part (the aforementioned Grandpa Bill) avows and confesses that he, with no malice or aforethought, did misstate the dates upon which the Grow Mikaila Grow contest and the potentially requisite Tie-Breaker-Contest end.
So be it that the guesses of said hypothetically-tied contestants must be in no later than midnight on June 19th. The conclusion of the constested period remains July 4th.
